Kommissar Hjuler und Mama Baer & Ninni Morgia and Silvia Kastel - Two Couples
"Two Couples" is the collaboration of German artists Kommissar Hjuler and Mama Baer with guitarist Ninni Morgia and singer/synth player Silvia Kastel. The first pair is well-known for their provocative, neo-dadaesque art and numerous home-made recordings and performances, as well as their previous works with such artists as Smegma and Thuston Moore. Morgia has been highly acclaimed for his innovative techniques on his last release with William Parker, also on Ultramarine, whose head Silvia Kastel also debuts on this record.
What you'll hear on "Two Couples" is a fusion of musique concrete, avant-garde, tropical psychedelia, moaning, screaming, free jazz and lots of raw synths. The front cover features a portrait of the two pairs, especially made by Mama Baer for this release. Available as digital download and limited-edition LP of 300 copies.
