Fonal pull another bonkers pop gem from their belts, this time courtesy of Teatteri Moderni singer and Circle member Mika Rättö, a man whose voice is almost synonymous with utter strangeness. Elements of mid 70s prog rock tumble over 90s indie references (think a more baroque Radiohead) and that glorious sense of Finnish melancholy is never far behind, but where the band really come into their own is on the second track, the more folk-rooted 'Myrskyn Ytimessä'. This is the point where Finnish folk collides with Fairport Convention and comes out grinning, and marks another crucial part of the vintage Fonal canon.
